"I can honestly say the Rennsport bar is outstanding. The fit is perfect, the price is right and the construction is very well done. However, I have never "Rolled" my car to test the bar and don't plan to!"

"I am contemplating buying a Redline Rennsport Bolt-in Roll Bar and was wondering if anyone has purchased one for their 944 already?"

"I had John's bar in my Silberrosa 944 Turbo S"
How well did it fit?
"The fit was perfect. Since I was going to be in the neighborhood (on my way to a DE at Watkins Glen), I stopped by at John's and he was kind enough to install it for me."
How was the service? - "Excellent."
How is the quality? - "The best!"
Anything I need to know about before installation?
"He doesn't take credit cards. ;-) When my Turbo S was rear ended, I removed the bar to install in the replacement car. I heartily recommend the product.
"I have seen a couple of them after installation and they not only look great, but as a registered professional engineer with about forty years experience, I am very impressed with its design and usefulness for such things as occupant protection, mounting your harness, fire extinguisher and camcorder. I watched one of the roll bars being installed at Watkins Glen. The complexity is dazzling. In fact it requires so much expertise that I believe my ten year-old grandson could have done it in forty minutes which is exactly TWICE the amount of time it took to install the one while I watched.
The other MAJOR benefit of the roll bar, aside from its protection factor for occupants of the vehicle, is the fact that it is removable leaving virtually no signs of its installation. Reasons I can quickly imagine for removal include such things as winter non-track use of the car when you may want more accessible space for passengers of carrying items, use on your next and undoubtedly faster 944/951 Porsche, or you may want to resell it in 2015 when you get the then new Porsche quadruple turbo with afterburners."
(although this came through anonymously, it sounds like the redoubtable Ted Vaughan from Illinois!
For those who don't know, Ted is anything but anonymous!) ;-}
"I would strongly recommend the bar... I personally haven't bought one but I did help (a little) another 951 driver to bolt one in at Watkins Glen, along with John, the proprietor of Redline Rennsport. It is a quality piece with very nice fit and finish.
The installation was easier than the Weltmeister harness bar that I had in my car. In fact I liked it enough that I am talking to John about a cage for my track car. John is a 944 owner / driver with a lot of experience with our cars."
"I haven't gotten one, YET, but that is next on my list for a "safety" upgrade, to replace my existing B-K Harness Bar. If I had known about it before I got my B-K (but, I don't know if he was making them 2 years ago), I would have one in the car already.
I had a brief conversation with Michael Hushaw shortly after I became aware of its existence, and Michael said he had an excellent experience with the both product itself and with John Hajny.

Can I build one for you?

John.. I giggled as I unwrapped the cut up seat foam from my new bar, realizing how tough it was to pack and ship such a big, awkward piece. Work of art it is, not for racing but for track events short of taking the checkered. I too balked at the delivered price but once you bolt it in, there is no doubt. It ain't for everyone, but for those who want peace-of-mind in an environment on the edge, you deliver it custom made to our "bolt-in" specs. There is no cheaper comparable alternative to your item. It is what it is. Want more safety? Start cutting and drilling. Want less safety? bad call. Keep up the good work, John!
